Climate change bill targets oil and gas industry’s methane emissions

 

Depending on how one views the landmark climate legislation that cleared the U.S. Senate this week, it contains either a loophole or an escape mechanism for oil and gas firms when it comes to being forced to have lower emissions rate for methane.

The legislation was aimed against the oil and gas industry, imposing a first-of-its-kind fee on the releases of the potent greenhouse gas from energy infrastructure reported Bloomberg.
