A day after a tumble in trading, crude oil prices managed a Wednesday rebound of more than $2 a barrel and Oklahoma energy stocks had a strong response.
It came following a report of lower crude oil inventories in the U.S., a U.S. interest rate hike and cuts in Russian gas flows to Europe.
West Texas Intermediate crude for September delivery rose $2.28 a barrel to close the day at $97.25 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for September delivery rose 93 cents to $107.55 a barrel.
August natural gas fell 31 cents to $8.69 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Wednesday proved to be another strong day for Oklahoma energy stocks with NGL Energy Partners and Laredo Petroleum each recording 8% gains for the day.
