In a state with record revenue from oil and gas operations, a move by one New Mexico County to open the door to local oil and gas development not only stunned residents but possibly generated opposition.
The Albuquerque Journal reported the surprise move was carried out by County Commissioners in Valencia County, a county located immediate south of the city of Albuquerque.
