Oil futures held their own in Monday’s trading as investors and analysts think not even an economic slowdown will ease the continuing supply crunch.
Oklahoma energy stocks suffered as some experienced losses as high as 17%.
West Texas Intermediate crude for July delivery went up 26 cents and finished the day at $120.93 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for August delivery rose the same amount, 26 cents, and closed at $122.27 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
July natural gas slipped 24 cents to $8.61 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oklahoma energy stocks, to put it bluntly, had a horrible day with widespread losses, the largest being more than 17% for Empire Petroleum and 14% for SandRidge Energy.
But others had losses ranging from 4% to 8.5% for Continental Resources.
