On news that COVID-19 cases are falling in China, crude oil prices rebounded Wednesday and settled back above $100 in the U.S.
Prices made their rebound after China’s daily COVID case numbers on Monday fell to the lowest level since the middle of March.
West Texas Intermediate crude for June delivery shot up $5.95 to $105.71 a barrel on the New York Stock Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for July delivery rose $5.05 and closed at $107.51 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
June natural gas rose 25 cents to $7.64 per 1,000 cubic feet.
The impact on Oklahoma energy stocks was mixed. Some like Gulfport Energy rose 6% and settled above $90 a share while Unit Corporation fell 5%.
