Sometime in the not-too-distant future, the AWACS planes based out of Tinker Air Force Base and flying over Oklahoma will have a new and noticeable look.
Instead of rotating dome we’re used to seeing, it will have a “wedgetail” look.
The Air Force announced this week it intends to replace part of the E-3 Sentry or Airborne Warning and Control System, fleet with Boeing E-7 Wedgetails.
