Crude prices slipped on Friday and took OK energy stocks with them

Falling oil prices: 2019 and today

 

Crude oil prices closed the week with a drop following renewed diplomacy over Russia’s bloody invasion of Ukraine. They ended with a nearly 4% drop for the week, caused by a number of things including weaker global growth, COVID-19 lockdowns in China, and of course, the war in Ukraine.

 

West Texas Intermediate crude for June delivery dropped $1.72 to close at $102.07 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for July delivery skidded $1.68 to finish at $106.65 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
 May natural gas fell 42 cents to $6.53 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Falling oil prices also led Oklahoma energy stocks on a down-hill path with many recording losses including a 7% drop for Laredo Petroleum and 6% for Ovintiv.
The lone standout for the day was Blueknight Energy Partners which shot up nearly 39% on Friday.

Apache (APA) down 1.48 at 40.71 – change 3.51%

Cheniere (LNG) down 0.88 at 135.69 – change 0.65%

Chevron (CVX) down 3.63 at 160.94 – change 2.21%

ConocoPhillips (COP) down 2.66 at 96.01 – change 2.70%

Diamondback Energy (FANG) down 7.25 at 130.10 – change 5.28%

Energy Transfer LP (ET) down 0.37 at 11.28 – change 3.18%

Enterprise Products Partners (EPD) down 0.47 at 26.67 – change 1.74%

EOG Resources (EOG) down 3.37 at 116.12 – change 2.83%

ExxonMobil (XOM) down 1.90 at 85.13 – change 2.19%
