This time it was outages in Libya adding to growing worries about a tight global supply of crude oil during the Ukraine crisis that caused a 1% jump in oil prices on Monday.
It represented a 3-week high in crude prices as Brent crude for June delivery rose $1.46 to settle at $113.61 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
West Texas Intermediate crude for May delivery went up $1.26 and closed at $108.21 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
May natural gas rose 52 cents to $7.82 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oklahoma energy stocks made some gains on Monday with SandRidge Energy going up 5%, Coterra Energy a strong 4% and Mammoth Energy about 4%.
On the down side, Cypress Energy plunged nearly 48% on the heels of a SEC filing indicating the company still cannot make a deal with its lender and is at risk of financial reorganization.
