For a fifth time in the past week, crude oil prices fell in Wednesday’s trading after U.S. inventories increased and peace talks in Russia and Ukraine offered little hope.
West Texas Intermediate crude for April delivery dropped $1.40 before settling at $95.04 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for May delivery fell $1.89 and closed at $98.02 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
April natural gas rose 18 cents $4.75 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Modest gains were recorded by Oklahoma energy stocks including a 6% increase for PHX Minerals and a 4% for SandRidge Energy.
