Not to be outdone by Oklahoma City’s Devon Energy and its $20 million in humanitarian aid for Ukrainian war refugees, Pioneer Natural Resources in Dallas matched the offer.

It also announced $20 million humanitarian aid to relief organizations operating in Ukraine and the surrounding region. The announcement came the same day that Devon made its pledge. It is unknown whether the two companies collaborated on their announced pledges.

“The death and destruction along with the displacement of millions of Ukrainians caused by Russia’s unprovoked invasion requires assistance from both governments across the world and the global business community,” said Chief Executive Officer, Scott D. Sheffield in the announcement by Pioneer.
