Iowa landowners pressure legislature to restrict eminent domain by pipeline developers

About 100 concerned landowners and pipeline opponents from across Iowa gather in the rotunda of the state Capitol in Des Moines on Tuesday to voice their concerns about the use of eminent domain for proposed pipelines.

Nearly 100 Iowans fighting eminent domain for proposed carbon pipeline projects gathered this week at the Iowa State Capitol to call for stronger landowner protections.

They gathered at what was called a “people’s public hearing” and called on legislators to impose stronger restrictions on the use of eminent domain by pipeline developers reports the Des Moines Register.
