Energy Transfer chairman Kelcy Warren has filed a defamation lawsuit against Democrat Beto O’Rourke who is running for governor in Texas and made the claim that Warren “bought off” the state’s governor after Winter Storm Uri.
The Associated Press reported the suit stems from O’Rourke’s accusations made against Warren for his $1 million donation to Republican Gov. Greg Abbott’s campaign following the deadly winter blackout in 2021.
