Crude prices in the U.S. made a push closer to the $90 mark on Wednesday. But it didn’t do much to help Oklahoma energy stocks as most recorded losses for the day.
West Texas Intermediate crude for February delivery reached $86.96 a barrel after a $1.53 or 1.79% increase in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for March delivery managed a 93-cent increase to finish at $88.44 on ICE Futures Europe.
February natural gas fell 25 cents or nearly 6% to $4.03 per 1,000 cubic feet.
The increased crude oil prices didn’t do much to boost Oklahoma energy stocks as only three firms recorded gains in Wednesday’s trading. Blueknight Energy Partners had a more than 4% increase for the day while 5% losses were recorded by LSB Industries and Mammoth Energy Services.
