Ovintiv USA Inc. reports two more large producers in Kingfisher County, an area that has been a proven sweet spot for the company.

In a recent filing with the Corporation Commission, Ovintiv reported production from two wells on a single pad totaled nearly 2,800 barrels a day.

Whether the two wells were the only ones drilled at 20 16N 7W, a site about one mile west of the city of Kingfisher, remains to be seen. It is possible the company might have more completion reports if other wells were also drilled on the same pad and has yet to file them.

The two reports filed this week were on the Pearl Fiu 1607 4h-17x and the Pearl Fiu 1607 5h-17x.

Both wells had April 2021 spud dates with completions made Sept. 30, 2021.

The first well had production of 1,233 barrels of oil a day along with 3,697 Mcf of natural gas when completed at a depth of 15,690 feet. The second Pearl Fiu was the bigger producer at 1,558 barrels of oil a day and 4,234 Mcf of natural gas when completed at a drilling depth of 15,650 feet.

Such production has become commonplace for Ovintiv’s drilling projects in the county that makes up part of the STACK play. Over the past year, Ovintiv reported completions of wells with more than 4,000 barrel a day production at sites northwest of the city of Kingfisher as well as at its immediate south side.

While the wells might be ‘old news’ to Ovintiv employees because the wells were completed last fall, the completion reports were just filed with state regulators.
