Oil prices rebounded but OK energy stocks lost in Thursday’s trading

After hitting their lowest levels in nearly 6 weeks, crude oil prices on Thursday rebounded in the U.S. and globally. But it wasn’t enough to help Oklahoma energy stocks as several experienced losses for the day, including one with a 16% drop in share prices.

West Texas Intermediate crude for December delivery managed a 65-cent climb to $79.01 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Global benchmark Brent crude for January delivery went up 96 cents and closed at $81.24 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

Natural gas for December delivery also rose in Thursday’s trading, closing up 8 cents at $4.90 per 1,000 cubic feet

Only a few Oklahoma energy stocks made gains for the day while a handful of companies suffered big losses including Helmerich & Payne with a more than 16% drop. Mammoth Energy went down more than 9%. Three others saw losses of more than 5%.
