Crude oil prices took a major hike in Tuesday’s trading settling at more than $84 a barrel in the US and nearly $85 in Europe.
West Texas Intermediate crude for December delivery rose $2.22 to $84.15 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for January delivery increased $1.35 to finish the day at $84.78 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
Natural gas for December delivery slipped 45 cents to close at $4.98 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Some Oklahoma energy stocks made gains including nearly 5% by SandRidge Energy while Cypress Environmental suffered a nearly 7% loss for the day.
