Another big drop in crude oil prices was recorded Friday as crude fell to a 7-week low in the markets. It also sent Oklahoma energy stocks tumbling for the day.
West Texas Intermediate crude oil for December delivery fell $2.91 to $76.10 a barrel in trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. That amounted to a drop of 3.68%.
Global benchmark Brent crude for January delivery dropped $2.35 a barrel to $78.89 on ICE Futures Europe. The loss totaled 2.89%.
Meanwhile, December natural gas went up 17 cents to finish the day at $5.07 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Most Oklahoma energy stocks recorded losses for the day while one company, Mammoth Energy Services had a nearly 13% gain in Friday’s trading.
