Cheniere Energy obtains approval to build its $1 billion Midship Pipeline in Oklahoma

Natural gas exporter Cheniere Energy is moving closer to an expansion of its ability to turn more Oklahoma natural gas into LNG for shipment overseas—perhaps aiding European and Asian countries with depleted inventories ahead of winter.

Cheniere Energy and Venture Global LNG have inked five deals in the past five weeks to bring 9.2 million metric tons of LNG onto the global market reports Bloomberg.

Cheniere Energy, the largest U.S. exporter awaits government approval to move ahead with a multibillion-dollar investment to enlarge its operations in Corpus Christi, Texas. In the past year, Cheniere’s Midship pipeline became operational carrying natural gas from Oklahoma’s SCOOP and STACK plays to South Texas.
