A Kansas-based fossil fuel company known nationally for its conservative politics caught the attention of environmentalists recently in Minnesota.
Flint Hills Resources, a subsidiary of Koch Industries—yes, that Koch Industries was accepted as a dues-paying member of Minnesota’s solar energy industry trade group. Flint Hills owns the Pine Bend Refinery near St. Paul and according to the Energy News Network won unanimous approval to join the Minnesota Solar Energy Industries Association.
