Crude oil prices slipped in Wednesday’s trading but in the U.S., prices still remained above $80 a barrel while overseas they stayed at more than $83. Some Oklahoma energy stocks recorded losses as much as 8%.
West Texas Intermediate crude for November delivery dropped 20 cents or 0.3% to $80.44 while global benchmark Brent crude for December delivery slipped 24 or 0.3.% to $$83.18 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
The slide in WTI came after hitting their highest prices since October 2014 in the past three trading sessions.
As crude prices slipped, Oklahoma energy stocks went down too with some energy firms reporting large losses for the day. Cypress Environmental dropped more than 8% and Laredo Petroleum fell more than 6%.
