At least three cities in Texas and one in Colorado are among the EPA’s annual Top Cities list of metro areas that are home to the most ENERGY STAR certified buildings in the U.S.
One Oklahoma city was ranked in the mid-size cities. Tulsa tied for 10th with Madison, Wisconsin with 28 ENERGY STAR buildings. Tulsa’s listing included 4.2 million square feet under the EPA listing with an annual cost saving of $1.5 million.
The top cities overall included Dallas, Austin and San Antonio in Texas and Denver in Colorado.
The EPA says the ENERGY STAR list is of regions continuing to make what it called “impressive” strides in cutting American energy bills and pollution through energy efficiency.
