The heat wave hasn’t hit Oklahoma as hard as it has Texas where the state’s power grid operator is asking consumers to conserve electricity.

The state’s facing a record-setting demand and after 11,000 megawatts of generation was removed for repairs, it’s become a challenge.

Some parts of Texas have hit 100 degrees and it has put increased demand on the electrical grid as residents try to stay cool.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) announced Monday that tight grid conditions have resulted due to a “significant number of forced generation outages” as well as the potential for record power use in the month of June due to the summer heat reported ABC news.
