Oklahoma’s STACK play gave up a Devon Energy four-well single-pad production of more than 4,000 barrels of oil this spring, proving the wait was worth the effort.

The Chisholm Trail 18_19-16n-9w wells, located at 18 16N 9W in Kingfisher County, a site about 15 miles west of Kingfisher and 4 miles south of the Lomega High School had producers of 1,207, 1,093, 952 and 844 barrels of oil a day from the Mississippian.

The largest of the wells, one with 1,207 barrels of oil a day and 3,312 Mcf of natural gas had an April 2019 spud date and drilling finished the same month. Completion wasn’t made until April of this year at a depth of 19,241 feet.

The second largest well with production of 1,093 barrels of oil a day and 2,765 Mcf of natural gas a day had a July 2019 spud date and drilling finished the same month at a depth of 19,472 feet in the Mississippian. Completion was made in April 2021.

The well with 952 barrels of oil a day production and 2,683 Mcf a day of natural gas had a June 2019 spud date and drilling finished the same month at a depth of 19,590 feet. Like the others, the well was completed in April 2021.

The smallest of the wells had 844 barrels of oil a day and 2,650 Mcf of natural gas production from 19,233 feet. It was the first of the four wells to be drilled on the single pad and had an April 2019 spud date with completion in April of this year.
