Crude oil prices managed a big jump in Tuesday’s trading as they settled higher than $72 a barrel in the US and nearly $74 a barrel overseas and reached their highest prices since October 2018.
West Texas Intermediate crude for July delivery rose $1.24 to finish the day at $72.12 a barrel.
Global benchmark Brent crude oil for August delivery finished up $1.13 to $73.99 a barrel.
July natural gas fell 11 cents to $3.24 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oklahoma energy stocks showed a mix of gains and losses with PHX Minerals Inc. having the biggest gain of 4.76% on a 17 cent increase to $3.74 a share.
Cypress Environmental Partners LP had the biggest loss at 6.43% on a 16 cent fall to $2.33.
Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. rose 10 cents for a 1.43% gain to $7.08.
Blueknight Energy Partners LP finished up 2 cents for a 0.52% gain to $3.86.
Chesapeake Energy had a 0.23% gain on a 13 cent increase to $55.96.
Cimarex Energy Co. finished up 81 cents at $70.62 for a 1.16% gain.
Continental Resources Inc. rose $1.39 for a 3.93% gain to $36.79.
Devon Energy Corp gained 2.14% on a 62 cent increase to $29.60.
Enable Midstream Partners LP finished up 8 cents at $9.66 for a gain of 0.84%.
Gulfport Energy Operating Corp. gained 1.48% on a 97 cent increase to $66.70.
Helmerich & Payne Inc. recorded a 4.29% gain on a $1.42 jump to $34.54.
LSB Industries, Inc. rose 18 cents for a 2.78% gain to $6.65.
Laredo Petroleum Inc. went up $1.46 to reach $65.36 for a 2.28% gain.
Magellan Midstream Partners, LP lost 1.615 on an 86 cent fall to $52.62.
Mammoth Energy Services Inc. closed up 13 cents for a 3.49% gain to $3.85.
Matrix Service Co rose 29 cents to finish at $11.35 for a gain of 2.62%.
NGL Energy Partners LP dropped 7 cents for a 2.99% loss to $2.27.
OGE Energy Corp. fell 7 cent to $35.19 and a loss of 0.20%.
ONE Gas Inc. rose 36 cents for a 0.47% gain to $77.58.
ONEOK Inc. settled at $55.98 with a 54 cent increase and a 0.97% gain.
Ovintiv Inc gained 3.58% on an increase of $1.09 to $31.57.
SandRidge Energy finished up 15 cents at $6.40 for a 2.40% gain.
Unit Corporation closed up 5 cents for a 0.31% gain to $16.25.
Williams Companies Inc. gained 0.84% on a 23 cent climb to $27.75.
The Texas Energy Report indicated how other energy stocks performed on Tuesday, including ConocoPhillips which lost 6.02% on a fall of $4.20 to $65.59.
