Wyoming’s mining industry employment hit hard in 2020

A new report shows that of the more than 16,000 jobs lost in Wyoming last year, more than a third were in the state’s mining industry.

Nearly 5,900 miners were put out of work according to the report from the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services. The report showed that between the fourth quarter of 2019 and 2020, the number of persons employed in the state dropped 6% from 276,508 to 259,937 reported the Cowboy State Daily.
