New Mexico Democratic U.S. Sen. Martin Heinrich says the nation should do more to electrify the country’s economy and end the use of fossil fuels.
Heinrich, whose state is home to part of the oil-rich Permian Basin which has dumped hundreds of millions into New Mexico’s treasury, introduced his Electrifying America’s Future resolution which urges the development of electrical power for construction and transportation and expansion of interregional transmission capacity.
