Oklahoma’s Devon Energy and Continental Resources Inc. are two of the three major oil industry players who intend to drill more wells in Wyoming’s Powder River Basin.
Together with Colorado-based Anschutz Exploration, they intend to drill at least 63 wells in Converse County in 2021.
Devon Energy announced in April it will drive 18 new wells in the county where Douglas is the county seat. The Gillette News Record reported that two of the Devon wells are being drilled about 40 miles outside of Douglas along WYO59.
