The oil and gas industry fights for its life against the Biden administration

 

An OU history professor offers a take on the fight by the U.S. oil and gas industry against being eliminated by the Biden administration—a fight that involves some major companies in Oklahoma.

The Associated Press reported that Biden’s election put big oil companies on the defensive after largely having their way in Washington under President Donald Trump. But in taking on petroleum companies with a moratorium on oil and gas lease sales, Biden picked a foe that spent lavishly over decades to secure allegiance from Republican lawmakers.
