Eminent domain ban proposed against transmission line in Missouri

Missouri legislators prepare to take up a bill that would ban utility companies from taking land through the use of eminent domain. The bill is aimed at the Grain Belt Express power project which is designed to carry wind-powered electricity from south west Kansas to the state of Illinois.

The transmission line must go across northern Missouri and the bill passed last week by the Missouri House now heads to the state senate reported St. Louis Public Radio.
