Despite the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the year turned out to be a record year of oil and natural gas production in New Mexico.
Home to part of the Permian Basin, the state produced 366 million barrels of oil and 1.94 million MCF of natural gas.
The New Mexico Oil and Gas Association reported it represented a 10.5% increase but the growth was considered slower than in 2018 and 2019.
