Colorado didn’t escape same cold power issues

Oklahoma had its own power issues last week in the historic cold weather. While Texas suffered the worst with at least 35 deaths in the frigid cold weather, lack of electricity and a resulting lack of water, Colorado came close to the same issues.

And like Texas, Colorado had warnings about being sorely prepared for such kinds of disasters and like Texas, failed to heed them.

The Colorado Sun reported that Colorado didn’t take steps following the 2003 St Patrick’s Day blizzard and the 2013 northern Colorado floods.

Last week, the same kind of power issues that left Oklahoma and Texas scrambling to find natural gas to keep homes and businesses warm, hit Colorado.
