Oil prices rose again but Oklahoma energy stocks were ho hum

 

Crude oil futures rose again in Thursday’s trading but it didn’t translate strongly for many energy stocks.

West Texas Intermediate crude rose 54 cents to finish the day at $56.23 a barrel for March delivery on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Global benchmark Brent crude saw a 38 cent increase to $58.84 barrel for April delivery on ICE Futures Europe.

Otherwise, it was kind of a weak trading day Thursday for Oklahoma energy stocks.

Chesapeake Energy suffered a more than 12% loss a day after announcing it intended to lay off 220 workers as part of its emergence from bankruptcy in the coming week.

As for the gainers, they included Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. where stocks went up half a point or 3 cents to reach $6.26.

Cimarex Energy Co rose 5 cents to $46.88., a gain of 0.11%.

Continental Resources, Inc. saw a nearly 1% gain when stocks rose 13 cents to settle at $20.81.
Enable Midstream Partners LP finished up a dime at $5.68 for a nearly 2% gain.
Gulfport Energy Corporation had a 1.50% gain to just under 9 cents a share.
Helmerich & Payne, Inc. settled at $26.07 with a 21 cent increase or about a 1% gain.
LSB Industries, Inc. finished up 5 cents for a 1.29% gain to $3.94.
Mammoth Energy Services Inc gained 4.19% as stocks jumped 18 cents to finish at $4.48.
Matrix Service Co closed up a penny at $12.77.
NGL Energy Partners LP closed up 4 cents for a 1.44% gain to $2.81.
OGE Energy Corp. had a nearly 2% gain as shares rose 59 cents to finish the day at $31.38.
ONE Gas Inc closed up 38 cents or about a half-point at $72.41.
Ovintiv Inc settled at $18.32 for an increase of 7 cents a share or 0.38% gain.
PHX Minerals Inc picked up 12 cents for a 4% gain to $3.09.
Williams Companies Inc closed at $22.02 with a 10 cent increase or 0.46% gain.
The Oklahoma energy companies that lost in Thursday’s trading included Blueknight Energy Partners LP where shares lost 3 cents for a 1.42% slide to $2.09.
Devon Energy Corp lost 5 cents to settle at $18.15 for a drop of 0.27%.
Laredo Petroleum Inc finished down 6 cents at $27.52 for a loss of 0.22%.
Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. lost 84 cents to close at $40.51, a drop of 2.04%.
ONEOK, Inc. slipped two cents to finish at $42.46.
SandRidge Energy Inc. dropped 22 cents to $4.74 for a 4.44% loss.
