West Texas Intermediate crude could soon become a part of the global oil benchmark Brent Crude.
Bloomberg says S and P Global Platts is considering including WTI Midland crude to its main North Sea benchmark, a move it reports could potentially transform a marker price for millions of barrels of crude oil transactions every day.
WTI Midland is sourced from the Permian Basin but its main delivery and price settlement point is at Cushing, Oklahoma.
