In a state where nearly 17% of all Oklahoma jobs are energy related, the claims and counter claims of Joe Biden’s clean-energy plan are critical.
Until the votes are counted—a task that could take a few more days—the oil and gas industry holds its collective breath, not only in Oklahoma but across other oil-producing states such as Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas and North Dakota.
President Trump maintained that Biden’s plan to eliminate oil and gas and perhaps ban fracking would result in a loss of more than 10 million jobs nationwide in the oil and gas industry. In other words,6.5% of all US jobs in the country last year.
