Governor requests federal disaster aid due to Oklahoma October ice storm

 

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt has asked FEMA to issue a Major Disaster Declaration for 13 counties hit with an estimated $27 million in damages and costs due to the October ice storm.

The ice storm left hundreds of thousands without electrical power and some customers didn’t get it restored for two weeks after the storm.

The counties under the governor’s request are: Caddo, Canadian, Cleveland, Dewey, Grady, Kingfisher, Kiowa, Logan, Noble, Oklahoma, Payne, Pottawatomie and Roger Mills.
