Environmental groups challenge Illinois approval of increased oil flow in Dakota Access Pipeline

 

The fight is far from over for operators of the Dakota Access oil pipeline.

After they won approval last month from Illinois regulators to expand operations, now they are faced with an appeal by environmental groups.

Reuters reported Save Our Illinois Land and the Sierra Club have filed applications for a hearing with the Illinois Commerce Commission. The ICC had voted last month to approve a nearly doubling of the capacity of Energy transfer LP’s pipeline.
