Energy outlook discussed at IOGCC’s virtual conference

 

The 2020 Virtual Annual Conference of the Interstate Oil and Gas Compact Commission is underway this week in Oklahoma City.

But this year’s conference is being conducted by videoconference using the Zoom platform.

The general session was on Monday’s afternoon agency while the sessions featuring speakers and discussions will be held Tuesday.

Charlie Burd, IOGCC Vice-Chair and Wayne Christian, the 2nd Vice-Chair will give the welcome and introductory remarks on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m.

A federal update by Shawn Bennett, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Oil and Gas at the Department of Energy and Ken McQueen, the National Energy Policy Advisor and Region 6 Administrator of the EPA will be made at 10:45 a.m.

North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum will deliver the conference’s keynote address at 11:15 a.m.

A world energy outlook 2020 presentation will be made at 12:15 p.m. by Tim Gould who is head of the division of Energy Supply and Investment Outlooks and Director of Sustainability Technology and Outlooks at the Internal Energy Agency.

The afternoon sessions will deal with the potential reuse strategy for high salinity produced water, CO2 EOR and carbon capture, induced seismicity primer update, and fossil fuels and the improvement environment.
