Federal and state law officers held a 2019 exercise in Iowa to practice their responses to a fictional wind farm sabotage threat according to an online news publication.
The Intercept reported details of the exercise held jointly by the FBI’s field office in Omaha, Nebraska and the Iowa Division of Intelligence and Fusion Center. The news group said the exercise was held at the request of the wind industry.
The Intercept labeled its story, “Tilting at Windmills: The FBI Chased imagined eco-activist enemies, documents reveal.”
