Significant gas well drilled near Alex by Gulfport Midcon

Amidst major financial and executive changes at Tulsa, s Gulfport Midcon LLC , the company has filed a completion report on a 2019 well drilled near the Grady County town of Alex, one producing nearly 14,000 Mcf of natural gas.

The completion report on the Jeannie 6-27x34h was filed this past week even though the well was completed in April 2019. The well, with a spud date of October 2018 is located at 27 5N 6W or a few miles southwest of Alex.

Its production included 631 barrels of oil a day along with 13,781 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 21,890 feet out of the Woodford formation.

As OK Energy Today reported in January of this year, Gulfport completed two sister wells in the same region with production of nearly 1,500 barrels of oil a day. The two Dale wells are about 5 miles south of Alex and not far from the Jeannie well. One produced 641 barrels of oil and 5,477 Mcf of natural gas a day while the other had production of 854 barrels of oil a day and 7,248 Mcf of natural gas.

Midcon is the company that in a May filing with the Securities Exchange Commission suggested it might fail because of the volatility caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Then last week, the company announced a major change in its financial structure, a change that resulted in the resignation of company founder and president Randy Olmstead along with four other executives and members of the board of directors.
