OERB leader says people of oil and gas won’t quit over pandemic

OERB chairman Mike McDonald had a special note of encouragement, optimism and belief in Oklahoma’s oil and gas industry in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. He wrote the note in the newsletter from the OERB.

We are living through unprecedented times. COVID-19 and the chaos in the economy is affecting every one of us. We are all adjusting our personal and professional lives to this new reality. Medical professionals and first responders are playing a heroic role in this crisis. The people of Oklahoma Oil & Natural Gas remain committed to providing the resources and energy they need.

These are hard days for our nation and our industry. No matter what the future might bring, I encourage the tens of thousands of Oklahomans that work in oil and natural gas to remember that what we do is essential. We may not be on the front lines, but what we do is supporting those that are.

We will remain committed to Oklahoma. To our communities. To our schools and universities. And to our country. This is a great moment in time to live up to our promise and mission. People depend on us. We are the key ingredient in virtually every medicine and medical device. We are woven into the day to day routines of our friends and neighbors. We are the people whose products will help deliver life’s needs, from fuel to food to the technology we all depend on.

We will persevere as a nation and as an industry. While stock market volatility can be discouraging, our industry remains vital to this state. As we’ve shown time and time again, the people of Oklahoma Oil & Natural Gas won’t quit.

To all of the essential personnel, thank you for all you’ve done and continue to do. And, never doubt the people of Oklahoma Oil & Natural Gas will remain committed to supporting your efforts.

Sincerely,

Mike McDonald
OERB Chairman
