More big producers are found in Oklahoma’s STACK

Another round of large producing wells and single-pad operations was reported this week to Oklahoma Corporation Commissioners including a Chaparrel series of wells with 2,600 barrels of oil a day in production.

Chaparral Energy LLC filed reports on two Greenback 1307 wells located at 26 13N 7W in Canadian County and their combined production from the single pad was 1,612 barrels of oil a day. But the two wells were on the same pad as a completion report filed a day earlier showing 1,018 barrels of oil a day production. Combined with the latest two wells, one with production of 986 barrels of oil a day and 3,442 Mcf of gas and the other with production of 626 barrels of oil daily and 1,484 Mcf of gas, the three had total production of 2,630 barrels of oil a day.

The Greenback wells are located about 2 miles north of El Reno. The 986-barrels a day well had a November 2019 spud date with completion made in March 2020 at a depth of 14,895 feet. The second well, with production of 626 barrels of oil a day had the same spud date and completion date but from a depth of 14,505 feet.

Ovintiv showed another extensive list of oil activity in the STACK, filing 7 more completion reports in Kingfisher County. Three Biehler 1709 wells, drilled from the same pad at 5 16N 9W or about 5 miles southwest of Loyal had combined production of nearly 1,700 barrels of oil a day. The largest had production of 640 barrels a day and 1,831 Mcf of gas from a depth of 19,610 feet. Each of the three wells had August 2019 spud dates and completions were made in November 2019.

A second well produced 585 barrels a day and 2,062 Mcf of gas from a depth of 19,841 feet. The third Biehler 1709 well produced 469 barrels of oil a day and 1,913 Mcf of gas from a depth of 19,804 feet. The combined production of the three wells was 1,694 barrels of oil a day.

A fourth and separate Biehler 1709 well, drilled at a site about a mile away at 20 17N 9W had production of 454 barrels of oil a day and 1,316 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 19,632 feet. The well had an August 2019 spud date with completion in November 2019.

Ovintiv also filed reports on two Channel 1709 wells drilled on a single pad at 19 17N 9W, a site about 7 miles southwest of the town of Loyal and a mile north of the Lomega High School. The first well produced 399 barrels of oil a day and 1,869 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 19,855 feet. It had an August 2019 spud date and completion was made in November 2019.

The second Channel 1709 well produced 644 barrels of oil a day and 1,880 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 19,675 with completion also made in November 2019.

But just across the section line to the east, Ovintiv completed a third Channel 1709 well at 30 17N 9W and it had production of 685 barrels of oil a day and 2,385 Mcf of natural gas. It too had an August 2019 spud date but completion wasn’t made until December 2019 from a depth of 19,856 feet.
