Continental Resources finishes year with big producers in SCOOP and STACK

Oklahoma City’s Continental Resources Inc. is finishing 2019 with four sister wells producing more than 2,300 barrels of oil a day in the SCOOP. But a fifth well’s production from a site in an adjacent section makes combined production more than 2,500 barrels of oil a day from all five wells. And the company had two sister wells in the STACK with production of more than 2 barrels of oil a day.

The four Lang wells on a single pad at 20 3N 4W are about 8 miles south of Lindsay in Garvin County. The largest well produced 1,070 barrels of oil a day along with 3,564 Mcf of natural gas. The completion report showed the well had a February 2019 spud date and drilling finished in March with completion made in
August 2019. Its depth was 23,008 and production was made from the Sycamore formation.

The second largest well had production of 761 barrels of oil a day and 3,534 Mcf of natural gas. It had a January 2019 spud date and completion was made in August at a depth of 22,195 feet in the Sycamore formation. The two remaining sister wells were drilled into the Woodford formation. One had production of 305 barrels of oil a day and 2,239 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 23,225 feet. Its spud date was in December 2019 and completion was made in August 2019. The fourth Lang well on the same pad had production of 182 barrels of oil a day and 2,569 Mcf of gas when it was completed in August at a depth of 22,816 feet in the Woodford formation.

But the fifth Lang well, drilled in an adjacent section at 29 3N 4W brought in production of 205 barrels of oil a day and 1,748 Mcf of gas from the Woodford formation. Its completion report showed a spud date in April 2019 and completion in August at a depth of 20,347 feet.

Continental also reported completions of two sister wells at a site 7 miles northwest of Watgona with combined production of 2,016 barrels of oil along with 16,614 Mcf of natural gas.

The Smoot Quarter Fiu wells are located at 1 16N 13W and the largest had production of 1,037 barrels of oil a day and 8,371 Mcf of natural gas. It had a January 2019 spud date and completion was made in September. The well had a depth of 20,500 feet in the Mississippian formation.

The second well produced 979 barrels of oil a day and 8,243 Mcf of natural gas from a depth of 17,851 feet, according to its completion report.

Continental Resources also completed two sister wells in Grady County at 1 6N 5W or about 3 miles west of Dibble. The Green Acres wells had production of 175 and 124 barrels of oil a day.
