Rain, freezing rain and snow are in the Oklahoma forecast

A week after northwest Oklahoma had record snowfalls of up to 13 inches in Arnett, more cold weather is in the forecast this week. And it could turn ugly.

State Climatologist Gary McManus with the Oklahoma Mesonet says it’s not just snow but freezing rain that could hit too.

“Not only snow, the most dastardly of all winter weather types outside of wind chills in the negative 20s and below…freezing rain! Doesn’t look like any weather advisories are warranted as of now save for the Panhandle, but that could definitely change. It doesn’t take a lot of ice to make things go kerflooey,” wrote McManus in his Monday weather update.
