PSO honored for hiring US military veterans

Public Service Company of Oklahoma , a unit of American Electric Power was among a group of 14 companies recognized for hiring and supporting U.S. military veterans.

Recognition as a Veteran Employer Champion took place in a special ceremony in the Tulsa Mayor’s office.

The naming of Veteran Employer Champions stems from a partnership between the Oklahoma Veteran Alliance (OKVA), a program of the Community Service Council; Oklahoma Department of Veteran Affairs; Tulsa Mayor’s Office and area businesses.

“PSO is honored to receive this award and to be recognized alongside other area businesses who see value in hiring and doing business with our military veterans,” said PSO’s Tiffini Jackson, vice president – External Affairs.  “With nearly 200 military veterans on our team, we see the talents and skills they bring every day to our company.”

This is the second year for the Veteran Employer Champion recognition, and the second year PSO has been named to the list.
