Oklahoma oil and gas leader responds to frack bans pushed by Democratic Presidential hopefuls

Those Democratic presidential hopefuls who’ve come out in support of banning hydraulic fracturing nationwide are getting a response from the leader of one oil and gas group in Oklahoma.

Chad Warmington of the OIPA/OKOGA is even inviting them to come to Oklahoma and see what the industry’s done for the state.

“We’d welcome presidential hopefuls to Oklahoma so they can see firsthand the advancements we’ve made and, more importantly, meet the women and men who produce the energy they, and every other American, relies on each day to commute to work and power their homes,” he said.

At least ten of the 24  candidates for the Democratic Presidential nomination favor a total ban on fracking. Fifteen also want to ban all oil and gas production on public lands.

“These blanket statements from presidential hopefuls ignore the recent technological advancements that have made the U.S. more energy secure while also failing to recognize the benefits to everyday Americans who depend on affordable energy realize from these domestically abundant resources,” he said in response to a request by OK Energy Today.

Warmington said crude oil production in Oklahoma has more than tripled in the past decade, reaching record levels. Natural gas production, he added, has nearly doubled in the same time frame, providing a clean-burning fuel for the generation of electricity.

“Oklahoma’s oil and natural gas resurgence has been matched around the country, and the resulting energy independence has not only weaned our nation off foreign energy sources, but it has also provided Americans with supply and price stability,” said Warmington.
