Jump in drilling activity in Grady County

New completion reports filed this week show the oil and gas activity in Grady County is growing.

At least ten completion reports were filed Wednesday with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission reflecting new wells, including another by Unit Petroleum of Tulsa.

It was on the same pad where Unit reported earlier in the week a Schenk Trust well with production of 1,466 barrels of oil a day. The latest Schenk Trust 3hxl well had production of 1,323 barrels of oil a day along with 1,724 Mcf of gas.

The wells are located at 17 6N 8W or about six miles southwest of Chickasha. The completion report indicated the well is producing out of the Hoxbar formation. At least 27 stages of fracking were needed and used 7,031,127 pounds of sand and 152,315 barrels of slickwater.

The latest Schenk Trust well had a June 2018 spud date and drilling ended in July with completion made in August 2018.
