West Texas to get another new pipeline

A new $43 million natural gas pipeline will be built in West Texas by the United Kingdom-based Wood Group PLC.

The company won the contract for the 80-mile line from a yet-to-be identified midstream company. The steel pipeline company says it anticipates employing about 200 workers for the project.

“This is a strategic pipeline for the U.S. and we are proud to play our part in delivering this milestone project,” said Andrew Stewart, CEO of Wood’s Asset Solutions America business, in a statement.

“We have the largest and most vertically integrated pipeline project offering in North America and this win strengthens our position as a major midstream player,” he said.

Wood, with headquarters in Aberdeen, Scotland, operates in 60 countries and employs roughly 60,000 workers.
