OGE to present new Resource Plan to corporation commission

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission will hold a special meeting on Tuesday to consider OGE’s 2018 Integrated Resource Plan.

The 10 a.m. meeting in the Jim Thorpe Office building will also be an opportunity for shareholders to review and discuss the plan. The commission is not expected to vote on the IRP.

As Oklahoma Gas and Electric stated in its 2014 IRP, the planning involves specific environmental rules with which OGE must now comply. The rules include the EPA’s Mercury and Air Toxics Standards Rule or MATS, the Oklahoma Regional Haze State Implementation Plan and the EPA’s Regional Haze Federal Implementation Plan.

Its 2014 plan included a 2020 goal of new wind energy, more transmission in western Oklahoma to enhance the deliver of wind energy and new customer energy efficiency programs.
