Continental Resources hits 3 major gas wells in Blaine County

The past week saw new wells reported in a variety of counties in Oklahoma including 7 in Blaine County, one of the three major counties making up the STACK play.

Continental Resources reported three of those in Blaine County and revealed significant gas wells in a zone near Geary and Hydro. Information on the wells is in the latest completions report on OK Energy Today.

The largest was the Cooksey 1-3-34XH located 8 miles west of Geary (3 13N 12W) and had initial production of 25,755 Mcf of natural gas with no oil. The well was spudded in December of 2017 and drilling wrapped up in January 2018 with completion reported in May 2018.

Continental’s second largest gas well was the Marnita FIU 1-3-34XHM located 6 miles north of Hydro (3 13N 13W). It had completion production of 18,588 Mcf of gas and again no oil. Its spud date was in October of last year with drilling finished in December and completion made in May of this year.

The third largest well by Continental Resources had production of 16,319 Mcf of gas with no oil. The Huiatt 1-34-3XH was drilled one mile northeast of Hydro (34 13N 13W).

The spud date was last May with drilling finished in August 2017 and completion made in January of 2018.
