One word response over Pruitt’s resignation

The strangest response to Scott Pruitt’s resignation as EPA Administrator came from the government watchdog group Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington—CREW.

What did it have to say?

“Good.”

It was the tweet response from CREW Executive Director Noah Bookbinder after news of Pruitt’s resignation spread on Thursday.

He offered no other comment. CREW describes itself as a nonprofit legal watchdog group dedicated to holding public officials accountable for their actions.

The organization had spent months criticizing Pruitt for his leadership at the Environmental Protection Agency. In May, CREW’s chairman, Norman Eisen wrote an op-ed with two other senior members of the group and said, “In any normal administration, Pruitt would be long gone…There is no appropriate basis for retaining a cabinet secretary who has behaved like Pruitt.”
